Sunrise of Hope..

Sunrise of Hope..

I step outside into the crisp morning air, still wiping the sleep from my eyes, the last traces of dreams from my mind. I quietly pad over the deck to a chair. Pulling my knees up against me, I expectantly gaze out on the horizon. After a few minutes, I am rewarded by golden streaks of light piercing through the darkened sky slowly accompanied by splashes of orange and pink. Sunrises are such a glorious display of our Creator’s majesty. They serve as wonderful reminders that just as the sun never fails to come up each and every morning so also, Yaweh never fails to be faithful to His promises.

My thoughts slowly began to shift from the beauty before me back to my own reality. I sigh, thinking of the coming week. Sometimes the moments come when the to-do list and dreams feel like too much. And I close my eyes and wonder, "What if I don't finish what Yahweh wants me to do?"

Then a phrase pops into my heart, "He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion."

And I realize I've always grabbed hold of the "in you" part. It's a relief to know that, yes, there will be grace for who I am and that Yahweh will guide me into all He wants me to become.

But this morning, my thoughts drift beyond the "in me" and I realize that it's true of all that Yahweh wants to do "through me" too.

The purpose.

The plans.

All He wants to accomplish in my life today, this week, for the rest of my life.

The good work in me is inherently tied to the good works through me.

Yahweh will complete both.

That to-do list and those dreams?

Yahweh will complete them.

In His way..

In His time..

My role is to simply trust and obey and leave the results to Him.

I look back up to the sky and a bright ray of hope lights up my morning and heart. I smile with renewed peace and breathe in joy.

This girl, with His help, is ready for the new week.
